The Most Cost-Effective Evening Language Program In The Washington, DC Area
French I - Washington, DC (Level 1)Professor of French: Special Surprise, Returning Adjunct Professor Times and locationSee class schedule.
Academic GoalsFrench I is an introduction to the dynamic and useful French language. The ten week course will provide familiarity with French pronunciation and a solid base of French grammar. The classroom exercises will combine dialogue and reading, with vocabulary, grammatical explanations, and writing assignments. Handouts and classroom exercises will facilitate fast progress. Students should expect to spend several hours a week reviewing classroom materials and completing homework assignments. Each class will begin with a review of the exercises from the previous lesson, thereby reviewing that lesson before proceeding with the next one. The class will take a Mid-Term around week six or seven, depending upon our progress.
In addition to the material covered in the lessons, which will be referenced in the class textbook or passed out at each class meeting, there will be classroom conversation. While augmenting our lexicon all the while, we will be able to read, write and speak basic sentences in present, and have familiarity with past tenses. We will have a Final on the last class. By the end of the semester, you can expect to have basic reading, writing, and speaking skills.
There will be a $25 late fee for course registration after classes begin.
