ONLINE Summer Critical Languages Institute

June 5 – August 13, 2022

Program Description

In response to the government, NGO, and private sector increased demand for professional and practical skills in critical languages, DC Internationals MESALI has established the MESALI Language Institute. MESALI offers 120 hours of intensive instruction in Arabic, Chinese, French, Hindi, Korean, Kurdish, Persian, Spanish, Russian, and Urdu. View DCI MESALI's Summer Language Institute course schedule. Located in the nation’s Capital, the 120 hour program offers morning and afternoon time options, enabling students to work and or hold internships. The 120 hour course meets the language course requirements for Fulbright Scholars and  Boren Fellows.  Both 90 and 60 hour programs are available in the evenings.

Why you should choose MESALI

MESALI professors comprise a rich variety of native speakers with decades of professional training experience. They offer cutting edge language skills and custom tailored instruction for those preparing to take the foreign service officer language exam; providing the MESALI bump to those waiting on the FSO waiting list. They train and provide official assessments to Fulbright, Boren, FLAS, and other scholarship applicants, as well as university students seeking language placement examinations and waivers. For decades, they developed official language materials for the U.S. government, and official written translations and live interpretation. Our highly trained and qualified staff apply standards of the Inter-agency Language Roundtable and the American Councils for International Education.
